Thermofoam is engineered with a two-layer construction that maximizes both thermal and acoustic insulation properties:Polyethylene Foam Layer: This layer, with a low thermal conductivity of 0.38 W/mK, forms the core of Thermofoam's insulation capability. Its closed-cell structure minimizes heat transfer through conduction and convection, significantly reducing energy loss.Reflective Aluminum Layer: Bonded to the polyethylene foam, this layer acts as a radiant barrier, reflecting up to 99.5% of radiant heat energy. This reflective property prevents heat from escaping in colder climates and reduces heat gain in warmer climates.
